How it works
You book. We handle the rest.
No scrolling through profiles. No interviewing strangers. No group-chat begging on a Friday afternoon.
Book in a few minutes
Set up your family profile once: ages, routines, allergies, the bedtime negotiation tactics. Then pick a time.
A vetted sitter picks it up
Only sitters qualified for your kids' ages and needs see your booking. Your favourite sitter always gets first offer.
Take your little break
Your sitter checks in and out and sends a note at the end. Payment happens on its own. You just enjoy a hot coffee.
Care for every kind of day, and night

Why I started Little Break
When my twins were born, I was a new mom running on very little sleep, and I struggled to find childcare I actually trusted. I searched high and low for nighttime help and came up short. The options were either unvetted strangers from an app, a random request on Facebook groups, or nothing at all.
The irony? I've spent years building and running licensed childcare, where every educator is screened, trained and held to a standard. I knew what good care looked like. I just couldn't find it for an evening out, or for a 2 am feed. So I built it: real vetting, real training, overnight newborn support, and a real person in Calgary to call when you need us.

What would you do with 2 hours to yourself?
Napping is a valid answer.
Good questions
Something else? Talk to a real person in Calgary.
How do you vet sitters?
Every sitter has a police check with vulnerable sector search, current first aid and CPR, two references checked by phone, a video interview with our team, and about 6 hours of Little Break training before their first booking.
What if my sitter cancels?
We find you a replacement. That's our job, not yours.
Can I book the same sitter again?
Yes. Save a favourite and they get first offer on your bookings. Members can set up recurring weekly sits.
How do ratings work?
After every sit, you rate your sitter and your sitter rates the sit too. Ratings stay hidden until you've both submitted, so everyone can be honest. Anything about safety goes straight to our team, not into a star rating.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel 48 hours or more ahead and it's free. Between 24 and 48 hours, you can move your booking to another date at no extra cost. Less than 24 hours is non-refundable, because your sitter set that time aside for you. We charge your card on file 24 hours before your sit. Full policy
Why book through Little Break instead of directly?
Because the extras only come with us: a replacement if your sitter cancels, full liability insurance on every sit, background checks we keep renewing, Little Reports while you're out, and a receipt for every sit.
We love our sitter. Can we hire them full time?
Yes, and congratulations. With Hire Your Sitter, you can bring your Little Break sitter on as your family's nanny for a one-time fee of $399. We'll help with the handoff.
Where do you operate?
Calgary. We're locally owned and operated, and our sitters live here too.
